There's potential here and as this was a first visit, I would definitely return for a comparison and to try other menu items. The jerked chicken itself was very good, but the black beans were overcooked to an almost re-fried bean consistency and the rice could have been more moist. The fritters were so-so, a little greasy and lacking flavor. All dished were served hot, and serving sizes were ample The empanadas were excellent, flavorful beef and potatoes filling a flaky pastry. An extensive menu made food selection a challenge, but settled on the Beef Empanadas, Bacalao Fritters and Jamaican Jerk Chicken. I ordered a Lemon Ginger Mojito which was very good although a tad sweet - would have benefited from a splash more of seltzer. A wide variety of tropical drinks are available keeping with the theme, all reasonably priced under $8. Should mention that it wasn't too busy so I don't know how service would hold-up under a fuller house. A manager also stopped by to ask if everything was satisfactory. Service was friendly and efficient starting with the hostess, and our server was considerate enough to ask if we had a "time limit" since it was the lunch hour. Seating was reasonably spaced, booths comfortable and everything looked very clean. Festive, tropically themed Interior with a double high ceiling that provide a spacious party atmosphere that I'm sure lends itself to a decent happy hour experience. Inviting exterior with decent outdoor seating area, unfortunately closed for the season. I will NEVER be back.Visited for lunch just to try something different. BAHAMA BREEZE, Woodbridge - 500 Center Boulevard South - Restaurant Reviews, Photos & Phone Number - Tripadvisor. He did take the paella off the bill (which he did not SAY to us, he just shut us out like we were garbage and ignored us), and we did tip the server appropriately, since he seemed to be overwhelmed and we gave him the benefit of the doubt, despite not really checking if we needed anything. I seriously have never had the manager of a restaurant treat us like this. Finally, we just asked for the check, and he did not say a word, just gave us the bill with an attitude. The kitchen should be aware what they are serving, and it's a little SCARY that they are not. Then we mentioned the mussels, and he said, I don't touch the food, but this is not satisfactory when we are paying what we are paying for the dish. This was where they sat us when we came in. We stated to him that we were not served promptly, to which he replied, "well, you were seated somewhere else and you asked to sit here". We asked to speak to the manager, Rick, who was the most unpleasant manager I have ever encountered at any restaurant. By this time, we did not see our server often at all and had to keep flagging him down. The manager did bring out another order of mussels, but we were surprised that one of those were not open either. One of our party ordered paella, but when it came 3 of the 5 mussels were not open. However, they seemed to be understaffed and he did not come back to the table often to check on us. It took a long time for a server to come, when Davon came he was helpful. I had a handicapped person with me and we stood there waiting for at least 5 minutes while they figured out where. When we entered the restaurant, it seemed like there was an issue seating people. We went for lunch today at this Bahama Breeze. Late Night American Restaurants in Woodbridge.
